Palar agricultural college successfully hosted its much anticipated 6th Annual sports meet on 21.07.2026 with the immense enthusiasm, competitive, spirit and remarkable participation from students and faculty alike. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship among the student community reinforcing the institutions commitment to holistic student development.
The grand program was gracefully headed and presided over by the esteemed principal Dr. N. Tamilselvan, General Manager, Mr. Srinivasan, (Physical Education Director) Mr. Radhakrishnan, Dr.N. Meena, Asst. Prof. (Agrl. Microbiology) along with all the dedicated faculty members and Final year student Sports secretary Mr.S.Perarasu and Ms.V.Divya. The dignitaries lit the spark of the motivation for the participants through inspiring opening addresses, emphasizing the importance of physical well being and discipline alongside academic excellence.
OVERVIEW OF EVENTS AND COMPETITION:
The sports meet featured an extensive line-up of track, field and team events designed to test the endurance, agility and tactical skills of the participants. Based on the scheduled matches and final events, the competitions were categorized into various exhilarating team and individual games.
TEAM GAMES:
Highly competitive matches were held in cricket, basketball, volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho and throwball. Teams representing different cohorts such as Red, Blue, Green and Yellow sides displayed phenomenal teamwork and tactical brilliance.
ATHELETIC GAMES:
Individual games and group track and field events drew massive cheers. These included short and long distance running events (100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m for boys and 100m, 200m, 800m for girls ) as well as technical field events like shot put, discus throw, high jump and long jump. Participants are relly enthusiased and really inspired and layed to the core of their efforts. The efforts of student participants is relentless with a sense of unity.
INDOOR AND MINOR GAME :
Specialized events such as badminton showcased agile reflexes and strategic gameplay among the students.
PRIZE DISTRIUTION CEREMONY:
The culmination of the sports meet witnessed an electric atmosphere during the prize distribution ceremony. Over all winning house is blue house and majority of sports winning students final year Mr.S.Perarasu and 3 rd year Ms.P.Punitha. Winners and runners up who demonstrated exceptional prowess and perseverance across various disciplines were duly recognized and honoured. To celebrate their achievements, the victorious participants were awarded prestigious medals, glittering shields ad merit certificated by the dignitaries present.
The 6 th sports day of Palar Agricultural College on July 21, 2026, concluded on a high and memorable note. It successfully fostered a sense of unity, healthy competition and college pride. The event came to a formal close with a vote of thanks delivered to the management, faculty coordinators, PET department and the student body for their relentless efforts in making the sports meet and unprecedented success.
